The short answer
Yes. ATAs, FXO and PRI gateways devices speak standard SIP and register to our Asterisk-based hosted PBX. 54 models are listed below with their exact status, plus the gotchas that actually cost people time. If your model is not on the list, it is very likely still fine — send us the number and we will confirm.
Gateways are how a phone system stops being an all-or-nothing decision. An FXS adapter puts an analogue device - a fax machine, an elevator phone, an alarm dialler, the cordless phone someone likes - onto a SIP system. An FXO gateway does the reverse: it takes the copper lines you already pay for and presents them to the PBX, so you can modernise the phone system without touching the carrier contract. A PRI or BRI gateway does the same job for a digital circuit.

We have this registered against our own Asterisk today.
Ordinary SIP. We will provision it. We have not bench-tested this exact model, and we say so rather than pretending otherwise.
How we set them up
We configure the gateway ports, map each one to the right call flow, set the caller-ID scheme and the answer timing, then test each line individually with a live call. Port labels are never trusted as evidence of which line is which.
Gotchas worth knowing
These are the things that cost real hours when nobody warns you about them.
- On FXO, ring count before answer is load-bearing when carrier voicemail is still active. Answer too late and the carrier mailbox takes calls that should have reached a person.
- Cross-patched lines are common and the port labels will not reveal it. The only proof is calling each line and hearing which one rings - we have found crossed lines this way on a live install.
- Fax over IP is genuinely less reliable than fax over copper. Where a fax is business-critical, keeping one analogue line for it is the honest recommendation.
- PRI circuits are often bound up in a multi-year carrier contract. Check the term and the termination fee before planning a cutover.
Bringing existing ATAs, FXO and PRI gateways hardware to us
If you already own these, you almost certainly keep them. A handset that is not locked to another provider moves by changing three fields — SIP server, extension, password — which we do as part of setup. We do not sell handsets as a condition of service, we do not rent them to you, and we do not lock them. If you leave us later, the phones are yours and we release them.
Hosted PBX is $99 CAD a month for the phone system and up to 10 extensions, then $8.40 per extension after that. If you would rather own the server outright, we build on-premise systems from $1,500 and the hardware is yours.
