The short answer
If it speaks standard SIP, it works. Our PBX is Asterisk, not a vendor ecosystem, so Yealink, Grandstream, Poly, Snom, Fanvil, Cisco on MPP firmware and dozens of others all register the same way. Analogue phones and fax machines connect through an adapter. The only genuine exceptions are proprietary digital sets — Norstar, Avaya digital, Mitel Superset, Panasonic KX-T — which are not SIP devices and never will be.
This page exists because the question gets answered badly everywhere else. Vendors either say “we support over 500 devices” without naming one, or they quote you a full handset refresh because selling hardware is easier than checking. Neither tells you what you need to know before you spend money.
So: 341 model numbers are listed below, grouped by brand, each with a plain statement of how well we actually know it. We distinguish between hardware running on our systems right now, hardware that is ordinary SIP and will be fine, hardware that needs a condition met first, and hardware that will never work. That last category is on the page deliberately.
We have this registered against our own Asterisk today.
Ordinary SIP. We will provision it. We have not bench-tested this exact model, and we say so rather than pretending otherwise.
Works only under a condition: particular firmware, an unlock from your current provider, or an adapter. Check with us before buying.
A proprietary digital set. No configuration will make it register to any SIP system.

What we actually run
Two entries on this page are marked as running in production, and it is worth being clear about why the list is that short. Those are the devices registered against our own Asterisk today, in businesses that depend on them: Yealink T5 series handsets and the Grandstream HT841 FXO gateway, currently handling calls for a pharmacy and a medical clinic.
Everything else on this page is marked as standard SIP, which is an honest statement rather than a hedge. Those devices implement the same protocol and we will provision them, but we have not personally had that exact model on a bench. We would rather write that down than imply a level of testing we have not done — particularly when someone is about to buy twenty of something on our word.
Why an open PBX changes the question
Most phone providers hand you their hardware because their platform is built around it. The handset is provisioned by them, locked to them, and frequently rented from them. When you leave, the phones stop working, which is not an accident.
We run Asterisk, which is a standards-based SIP platform. A phone registers to it by presenting a server address, a username and a password — the same three things it would present to anyone. That has a few practical consequences worth knowing before you sign anything with anyone:
- You buy your own phones, from whoever sells them cheapest, and you own them.
- You can mix brands freely. Yealink at the desks, a Grandstream adapter for the fax, a Fanvil unit on the back door, softphones on laptops — one dial plan.
- Your existing phones usually come with you, which is normally the largest single saving in a migration.
- We do not lock them. If you leave us, your handsets are yours and we release them. We would rather earn the renewal.

Turn the phone over. There is a label on the base with a model number on it. Send us that, or a photo of it, and we will tell you exactly where you stand — including if the honest answer is that your hardware is fine and you do not need to spend anything.
